Terza Rima: Understand This

Oh love, which scatters fear like so much dust,
Come in and put the children's minds to rest.
No darkness hovers, hungry, filled with lust.

No--this is the never-changing best
Of light and hope, bursting through the ceilings
Now lighting up the night at your behest.

Uncovered are the old, unwanted feelings,
Called to mind with moonlight howls and calls.
The light of hope has sent them wand'ring, reeling.

The night lets go its grip, its fangs, and falls.
Oh little child and weary, hear the ones
Greeting the approach of grace. Stand tall.

This light and hope--they end as they've begun.
