It never was my merit which could buy
My pardon or a chance to live like this.
This freedom came as gently as a sigh,
Justifying me as with a kiss.
Gentleness at first, and then a power
Taking all my sins to task, to die.
Fear has lost its talent to devour.
I live indebted, rich, and reminisce
That someone saved my soul from the abyss.

Not feeling well tonight so it's really simplistic. A good reminder, I suppose. But I hope I can do something really nice tomorrow and go out with a bang, because my last few have been lacking creativity. Rainis sonnet done for Crowns of Sonnets' February Sonnet Challenge, day 13: [link]
