Parallelismus Membrorum

I climb mountains
Valleys pull behind me.
I sojourn West
The East Wind entreats.
I am without riches
And wealth follows me.
I am alone
Walking with three.
Haste sets my pace
In leisurely stride,
In darkness profound
Blinding and white.
In strength I arise
Because I am weak.
The greatest of kingdoms
Grows from a seed.
Wisdom calls me
For my childlike heart
And gathering crowds
Are driven apart.
To live a full life
Requires I die;
Righteousness cows before
Poor sinners' cry.
This is the life
I live in your death;
True life will begin
At my last breath.

postscript
Parallelismus Membrorum for DFC day 27. It is a Hebrew form of contradictory statements. I liked getting to do this, just because as a Bible scholar I have seen a lot of this form in both the Old and New Testaments. Pretty fascinating. So I took a few of Jesus' seemingly contradictory (but not actually) statements and based it around them. Good stuff. [link]
