New Every Morning

Who says my heart is heavy?
Who dares to weigh it low?
My God has broken fetters,
And see: I'm free to go.

Who knows what lies ahead?
Light spirits, heavy hearts?
Sorrow, yet with no regret!
As of today, it starts.

As the soul so longs to know,
Yet the ways are hidden.
But fear and doubt and seeking out
From my heart are forbidden.

Daylight pours its sunbeams
On the soul with steady paces.
God's promised peace shall never cease
For those who run the races.

Who then says my heart is darkened?
Look here and see what's right:
I stand here still, full in His will,
In the victory of daylight.

postscript
Facing tough stuff. But faith in the One who has everything in His hands is enough. More than enough. I've nothing to fear.
