NaPo XVIII. Cascade: Winter Fell

I loved a summer rainfall
It left me with a hopeless hope
And filled me while it emptied me
And made my winter fade away.

I stood beside the garden
Blinking at the greyish sky
Promising a downpour.
I loved a summmer rainfall.

You could have told me rain could come
And I would not believe you.
The way the winter fell so fast--
It left me with a hopeless hope.

God grant the sun to warm me.
It's all I asked as cold came in.
The hopelessness of cold fingers,
It filled me while it emptied me.

The frozen crust of memory
Woven through my veins and skin
Melted in your rainfall,
And made my winter fade away.
