I Will Praise

No voice is lovlier than Thine.
I have sought and made you mine.
Sweet Savior, here I gladly stand
Under your sweet reprimand.

Though you slay me, I will praise
The One who numbers all my days.
Undserved mercy pours
Itself on beggars, on the floors

Just as I am. Here I remain,
Knowing I should take the blame,
And live with self-inflicted sorrow.
Yet You told me, "Find tomorrow.

"Live today in freedom, peace;
Yesterdays together cease.
Think not that I'll exact a fee
To pay what once you owed to Me.

"That much is paid. Go: sin no more.
Here I am, standing at your door.
Let Me in and I will show
Where, together, we will go.

"No longer should you feel the grip
That held you once, caused you to slip.
Cast all off now-- you're free and new."
Lord, 'tis why I worship You.
Here I stand with life restored
And praise unceasingly my Lord.

postscript
I will praise You in this storm! Written when I really wanted to write something to express how frustrated and conflicted I was. I am so amused by the way He changes my plans.
