Day three of A jeuju, which is a traditional Chinese form. It can be five or seven syllables per line, and rhymes. Granted, the rhyming in English is the equivalent of all that tonal stuff that Chinese poetry does, and of which I haven't a clue. I always feel nervous doing Chinese or Middle Eastern forms in English, since they probably scarcely capture the essence of the form. Still, I tried, by sticking with the suggestions of sites that encourage writing Chinese forms in English: staying largely monosyllabic, using the first line to create a scene, the second to expand it, and the third and fourth for a small twist.
