Today's not a day
To compliment me.
I'm not pretty today,
But quite unworthy.
My hair is a mess,
And my shirt doesn't go,
With my pants- and my makeup
Is awful, I know.
I'm feeling quite fat
And my shoes, a disgrace!
And I hope no one notices
The zit on my face.
And I'd rather just quit
And go home and hide,
Because I'm not beautiful
On the outside.

Look at that girl!
Is that not the one
Who defended the shy girl
When others made fun?
See how her eyes sparkle!
Her smile lights her face,
And she walks with great posture
That denotes real grace.
I've seen her smile
At the "geek" and the "nerd"
And no word of reproach
From her lips have I heard.
You can see in her eyes
The beauty within
And her presence, her smile
Draws everyone in.
Someone that selfless
Must feel such a glow
And know that she's lovely
Wherever she goes.
